Prologo Scratch Pro Ti
When we think of saddles ridden by the Pro's, most of us don't immediately think Prologo.
But this small Italian saddle maker has risen to the challenge of meeting the needs of the cycling's elite.
Take the Scratch Pro Ti 1.4, possibly they're most popular saddle - and for good reason.
The Scratch Pro Ti 1.4 saddle is 276 x 134mm which slots it right in the middle of the saddle size spectrum.
A round profile will immediately be very comfortable for any one who's accustomed to a Selle Italia Flite, yet
the flat center has enough resemblance to an Arione that many will be at home on it.
What really sets this saddle apart is underneath the surface.
To aid in long ride comfort Prologo developed AD456 or Active Density padding.
Since different parts of the saddle support different parts of the body,
the light foam padding underneath the microfiber cover has varying thicknesses.
It's super soft on the nose for absolute comfort when time-trialing or in the drops and
medium soft underneath the middle to help spread pressure across the saddle and disperse it away from the Perineal nerve.
The base has been designed to also relieve the Perineal area as well with a thinner construction to
allow more flex. The back zone of the saddle has the firmest padding to give correct pelvic support.
Since the back of the saddle consistently is under the most pressure, the base is designed to work
in conjunction with the padding density. The best part of all this design engineering is that it works.
More Prologo sponsored riders ride a Scratch Pro saddle than any other.
The Ti 1.4 rails are a Nickel-Titanium alloy with a 1.4mm wall thickness and a HRC
(Rockwell hardness test) of 25.6+/-2, which means they give just enough flex to aid in dampening
road vibration, but will never break.
The base of the saddle is infused with 17% carbon to keep it from losing its flat-round shape overtime,
which many saddles are prone to.
Add it all up to a weight of 240 grams and it's anything but a hard bargain.
Make the upgrade and see why Prologo is the fastest growing bicycle saddle maker.
