SRAM PowerLock 10sp Joining Link
You can install a PC-1090R chain tool-free thanks to SRAM's
PowerLock
connecting link. No other sub-6mm chain in the marketplace shares this
feature. And unlike the occasional headaches we're all familiar with
when it comes to Shimano HG pins and Wippermann connecting links, the
PowerLock link is as strong or stronger than any other link on the
chain, and it won't hinder shift quality in the least.
Please note that while PowerLock installation can be done tool-free,
to break your chain you must use a standard chain tool. SRAM recommends
that you NOT break the chain at the PowerLock. Rather, you need to push
out any other pin. You can install as many PowerLock links in your
chain as you'd like, so if you're keen on having a pristine drivetrain
you can install and uninstall your chain for cleaning to your heart's
content
