Well, what a day of racing!
Congratulations to all those who entered and big up to the Solo riders both male and female, you guys are machines.
With freezing gail force wind's and rain i am suprised it didn't snow. Despite the conditions it was a great turnout. I have discovered why you don't buy cheap Marquee's, though it remained standing through the careful rope placement attached to gum tree's. Shannon and Wayne ( and Michelle) however did not fair so well, with their marquee being destroyed in the wind's. Jarrod and i were more than happy to have them join us. As it turned out if Wayne had not been hanging on to our Marquee it would have ended up in the Gum tree's lol. Thank you guys for helping us pack up.
It made for plenty of laugh's, and the presentation at the end was priceless. After convincing Shannon to join the Air Guitar comp we prepared ourselve's for a show,,,, poor Shannon. While there were 10 contestant's, a Juniorburger freestyler busted out a backspin on the rough gravel pad to take complete control, he owned it, finishing off with a mad dog knee slide on the gravel to claim the $500 prize pack. This of course left Shannon and the other's air guitaring away knowing there was little point in going on as the crowd were sold and so were the judges, OUCH!
But wait, there's more. A set of Tora forks were up for grabs, the anouncer calls, " is there a rider number 580?" With a burst of excitement, Wayne scoots up to collect the fork's. With a big smile on his face he is most satisfied, especially after already winning a Camera!
Ahhhh, i feel for poor Shannon. Not only did he get smoked in the air guitar, HE WAS RIDER 580 !
LOL, i will be laughing my ass off for months. I hope Wayne does not charge Shannon to much for the fork's.
What a day.
