ClubFGP Fundraiser BBQ - volunteers wanted

As a number of Trailmix regulars are also ClubFGP members, I thought it appropriate to re-post this here.  Non-members are also welcome to lend a hand:

Did you as a high school senior have a job flipping burgers at the local Maccas or KFC? If so, here's the perfect opportunity to put that previous workplace experience to use! ClubFGP will have a number of projects coming up, including additional general facilities at events and trail development (including Westgate Park), but for that we need to have some funds in the bank for the purchase of bits and pieces (eg, tools). If you can spare a few hours on Sunday, 4th October, we could use a few hands. We've been able to secure a date at Bunnings in Frankston to provide a BBQ to all customers coming through - while four of us from the committee will be giving our full days free time, if it's a clear day that's going to keep us absolutely flat out. We could therefore use a few hands - serving an estimated 1,000 customers will keep two BBQs flat out - turning sausages, adding oil, serving onions, collecting money and handing out bread - and that doesn't give us any opportunity to tell people about the club, what we do, and how people can get involved. What we'd like is for people to volunteer for just two-three hours of the day in shifts - if we could get 8 people to just show up for part of the day, that would make our lives much easier. Of course, if you'd like to volunteer for the whole day that would also be appreciated. Following this a fortnight after (Sat 17th, 10am from Trailmix) we will also be having a social ride at Lysterfield Park, with the intent being to invite any new interested members we may have generated from the day - we invite all members to attend, and will post more details soon.
