Hi all Just wanted to share my evening with you. After riding with the Evel Knievel crew chiefs tonight i left the carpark feeling a little down. I didn't feel like i provided a good ride for the group, considering half pulled out haha. Maybe i'l prepare next time and actually map a course or something. I moved on and headed home, with a sweet cracking/grinding sound occasionaly coming from underneath my car. What could this be i wondered, hmm. As i got closer to home it got worse, and worse and worse. Finally as i entered the driveway the almighty sound of a blown diff cracked through the silent air as i floored the gas lol. I really don't think the animals in the bush appreciated it. So, an hour later after i towed the car through the back gate i am here to tell you my story. Thank you for listening, i'm off to cry now :D Beeing Rad

Gees Braddles... So sorry to hear about the car. Do you know what would of caused the problem? At least its not a g/box... I did 2 before replacing with a group A box. A very costly event I wouldnt worry too much about the ride layout for tueday nights. There is a big bunch of mixed skilled riders and this is why the turn out is so good, so we need to cater for all. Remember this is a "Social Ride" and we want riders to be comfortable in joining the group and not to be intimidated by the more skilled and frequent rider. Overall the skill levels and fitness on all riders has increased dramatically. it will only be a short time before the group starts to demand a faster and more skilled course.

Hey Wayne I don't know, someone said it's common in XR ute's so i'l go with that lol. I'm drawing my own conclusion, it is coming from the rear so i'm assuming it's the diff. It started making noises off and on yesterday, i dropped into Ford and earliest i could get it in was Monday. I should have went straight home but i wanted to ride haha. I know it's a "Social Ride" and whatever the pace is i don't mind. I more meant i had no idea where we were going lol. It is good to see the skill's of everyone improving from week to week though. Cheer's

Shit mate, good news is it wasnt your bike! So jealous I cant make the Tuesday night ride, would compliment the Saturday ride really well and it would mean less time on the wind trainer during the week!!! Can anyone point me in the direction of a few websites to maybe start researching on some lights. What has everyone else paid for their set of lights? Any help would be awesome...

Hey J rod There are a few types at Trailmix, best way to go is LED i think. You can go from around $300 for the base nightrider's up to $600 fot the Tri led's. Just talk to Jo or Rob about it. They are cheaper than other online ozzie based shops, in some case by $100 from what i researched. You can get them cheap from OS of course, but the local distributor will not handle warranty claims etc unless bought here. This means, you will have to cover postage both ways to where you bought it which would most likely be over $50au. You will also be without your light for week's in this case. Wayne has a nice light setup 2 and super bright, not sure where he got it but he is very happy, have a chat to him on Sat about it. I will message him to let him know your after some info.

You are being a bit hard on yourself Brad, it was a good ride and as long as I'm pedalling my bike I'm happy. It was a big group all at different levels and it’s only going to get bigger as people attach themselves to the excellent community growing from Trailmix, it’s great to see. The fitness and skill level of the group is defiantly improving. If there is a descent turn out this Thursday I will try the Corner Man System to see if it works. I think it will help to keep things rolling rather than stopping at every intersection for everyone to regroup. If it works we could just stop at every third or fourth intersection for a breather. If you want to know more about the system go to this link https://secure.ktmtours.com.au/tours/cornerman.htm. It should work well and allow faster riders to work their way to the front of the group and slower riders to ride at their own pace. The other option is to split the group into fast and slow but this divides the group and makes it less social and not as much fun I think. Sorry to hear about your wheels may be the road bike will have to go on hold for a while L

I just did some reading on the cornerman system (thanks for the link!), looks like it could work for our group, especially with some practice. I'd be interested to see how it goes if you guys trial it on Thursday!

I cant do Thursdays.. well not for the time being, have to work on it. bRad - I hope Ford will be kind to you $$$$ I vote for the cornerman system too. We can start to use the system, but i think it will take a few rides for people to fully understand it and use it right. Best to have a pre ride chat to riders while others are getting ready. Jarrod.. you have text.
